300 really stunk!

Bottom line, 300 the movie stunk sucked!

Yep, I hated the movie.

Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad storyline. Unneeded nudity. Just bad!

However, the cinematography was great! I found myself getting hung up in the colors, lighting, shots and general camera work. That was great. But not worth the price of admission.

Not sure if this is going to be a popular opinion, but you guys know I really don’t care about that!

Have you seen it?

ear bud madness…

The ear buds and creature speakers were heavily focused on these tunes this week!

-> Social Distortion, Social Distortion
-> Stavesacre, Speakeasy
-> Third Eye Blind, Third Eye Blind
-> Daughtry, Daughtry
-> Allman Brothers, A Decade of Hits

Oops, forgot my favoirite right now…. ->Army of Anyone, Army of Anyone

What’s your recently played selection look like?

and then there was sound…

Jeska Linden announced yesterday on the Official Linden Blog that the beta voice feature in Second Life is open for use. Download details here.

I have not had a chance to use the beta tool let, but I am very excited about this. Talking via typing on a keyboard is not a very easy way to communicate in real time. I am confident that adding the voice feature with greatly enhance the experience and be one more step towards a fully immersive experience. The opportunities for how God can use this are limitless. In just the few short weeks that we have had Experience Island I personally have had many conversations with people far from God. I am now more exited about our full launch of LifeChurch.tv Second Life coming April 8th.

Let me know if you have tried out the voice beta… Love to know what you think.

Why Second Life you ask… check this post out from Bobby.

am i an idiot?

Ok you don’t need to answer that!

Here is something I do not understand…. Why does everything have to be political? Why when you take a stand one way or another do we find ourselves in a political camp? Can a decision be made totally outside of being political, or even “religious” or better yet, denominational?

Am I a total idiot to think that I can care about our environment, and this amazing world that God created and not be a ragging left wing radical? (I have been loving the new show Planet Earth on Discover Channel) How about this… can I care about human life, and protecting God’s creation and not be thrown in the camp of a “republican”? Maybe I am just over sensitive to this because it is that time of year… The time that some mud is being thrown and candidates are jockeying for position for the Presidential election.

Jerry Falwell totally threw me over the edge with his insane comments about Global Warming. [HT]

A few days after his sermon, Falwell was quoted as saying “God will maintain the Earth until Jesus returns.” Falwell implies that no matter what humans do to the planet, God will take care of it. [More here.]

I guess I am crazy or just an idiot to think that God would want us to take care of his creation. Something like our body is a temple, take care of it. The earth is His creation, take care of it. Life is precious, take care of it. I does not seam that hard. However, I am not naive to know that MONEY has a huge influence in these arguments. Money, and the amount that is being thrown around to sway decisions to influence culture and the minds of everyone. I just sometimes wonder what Jesus would say about all of this… Just a thought.

Just another rant… but I would love your thoughts!

pray for kathy

A horrible thing has happened to Kathy Sierra, one of my favorite bloggers. Kathy has received some SERIOUS death threats via blogs.

Kathy talks openly about the threats and documents them on her blog, but I caution you… the language is bad and it is very disturbing. View with caution. [link]

This is awful and totally unacceptable. I am having a very difficult time putting into words my thoughts and feelings about this. Take a moment and pray for Kathy and the situation that she is in.

Here are some other great posts about this. [Brian Bailey] [Robert Scoble]

god is huge

I am not sure why, but often I forget the magnitude of God. Do you?

Tonight Robin and I watched the first hour of Plant Earth on the Discovery Channel. Wow, amazing. The footage was remarkable, the shots, etc…. But what was so amazing is watching everything, and looking behind it all and seeing that God created it all. How everything works together, how it all flows…. How amazing, and awesome is the magnitude of God. And just to think, the same God who created it all, created us in His image.

Cool stuff. I really have no idea why I am blogging this, but there ya go. Happy Sunday to you all.

a monkey in starbucks

There was a monkey in the Edmond, OK Starbucks this morning. And her name was Reese!

Monkey at Starbucks Girls at Starbucks

Reia and I had a typical Friday or Saturday morning Starbucks tradition. It always included a Chocolate milk or Hot Chocolate followed by some type of unhealthy sugar substance in there “breakfast” menu. Now, Reese has joined in on the morning fun. So, if you live in the Edmond area, and are looking for a quiet Starbucks to retreat for some coffee and a morning papter, then I would recommend NOT coming to the one at Bryant and 15th on Saturday mornings…..

second life surprise

I popped into Experience Island tonight to chat with some folks and see how the Island is coming. Casey, a staff member on the LifeChurch.tv team has taken on most of the extra development for our Island. Casey is doing an amazing job with our island, and there were a few surprises for me tonight.
SL outdoor viewing SL MixTape SL Moon Bounce

First, here is our outdoor viewing area. Casey and I talked about this for a while, but this is much more that I ever expected! Looks like a great place to hold an outdoor concert. Maybe have a band on the roof, and have the video feed on the screens???? Second, is our MixTape series. MixTape is a series that kicks off April 8th, Easter Weekend. In Second Life we have MixTape invite cards that we are handing them out to everyone and encouraging them to check out the new series…in Second Life. Check out the invite card. Finally, the real surprise. The red box….What is the red box? Well, I am not going to tell you…go to Experience Island and find out for yourself.

a swerve day

Today is a swerve day….

I had a great opportunity to be a guest blogger over at Swerve. I was interviewed by Craig Groeschel and responded to 5 key questions. So if you ever wondered what a Digerati was, or what merging ministry and technology look like take a second a check it out.

one punk under god

One Punk Under God
I just finished watching a 6 episode TV show called “One Punk Under God”. Some of you might be familiar with the show, it is Jay Bakker, son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker. Jay Bakker is a pastor of Revolution Church, based in Atlanta, NYC and Charlotte.

I really enjoyed the show and getting to know Jay Bakker better. We have all heard the stories surrounding Jim and Tammy Faye, but I never really new the story and the life behind the story. I so found myself pulling for Jay through the entire series. I also found myself being challenged by why I believe what I believe, and really thinking about living out unconditional love. Jay has an amazing heart for the Lord, and loves people in a way that I appreciate.

Anyway, thought I would share the info… and on another note. There is quite a bit of controversial content in the show…not yo mama’s Bible belt theology being displayed! Would love to here your thoughts if you have seen the show.
