Today was an awesome day with the girls…the pictures tell more of the story.

Top Left- Reia riding in the Element w/o a booster!

Off to the store to get the RIGHT laundry detergent. A perfect excuse for a late night Starbucks run! It has been a great day…I hope yours was great as well.

~~Tomorrow~~ Today Robin and I got to “teach” a class together at the LC.tv December event. We ~~should have~~ had a blast doing it. The two classes will be held back to back, and are only 30 min. Yeah…blogging in 30 minutes! Here is the plan.

Mini Me is Tree! This weekend our little Reese turned 3. Holy cow, where has all the time gone? Next Reia will turn 6 on Christmas Eve…what a blessing it is to have such a wonderful family.

Most mornings I have the privilege to take Reese (3) and Reia (almost 6) to school. It really is such a blast just to hear them talk and learn what is going on in there little heads. This morning was awesome…here is a small part of our dialogue.

“Daddy, do you have your iPod?” -Reese

“You bet, what do you want to listen to?” -Me

“Hummmm, I wanna listen to Rock n Roll!” -Reese

“Daddy, what Reese is talking about is the….It’s been a long time since I’ve Rock n Rolled song by Led Zeppelin.” -Reia

“Oh yea, that is a great song.” -Me

“You bet it is. Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock and roll band of all times.” -Reia

I have the greatest girls is the world, wow, such a blessing! It is never to early to expose kiddos to true music greatness.

Environmental Awareness = Action.

In recent months (nearly a year) I have grown increasingly interested in environmental issues. Funny, I have found this topic to be a hot bed for some, and others I have talked with have no interest at all.

Anyway, I have found some organizations that really make sense to me. Check them out for yourself.

41pounds.org is a community of people working to eliminate a big personal nuisance and environmental hazard – junk mail. Our name comes from the amount of junk mail the average person receives each year (credit card applications, catalogs, coupon books, etc.) which for the most part goes directly into the trash can or recycling bin. Awareness for us has turned into action. I will go on record and say that Robin does think I am a little nuts most of the time, but I am used to that. Here are just a few things that we have done over the past few months, and a few things we are considering.

* Built an Energy Star home.
* Tankless water heater
* Recycle
* Pledged to change to energy star lights. (pledge here)
* Changed out over 60 light bulbs.
* Signed up at 41pounds.org
* Became Carbon Netural at Carbonfund.org
* Replaced small gas lawn equipment with cordless electric
* Considering replacing gas mower with manuel or electric
* Considering next vehicle to be high MPG or Hybrid

Friday with Reia

Friday I had the opportunity to hang out with Reia at her school. Reia is in Kindergarden at Charles Haskell Elementary, and they have a program called ‘Watch D.O.G.S”. The program was adopted a few years back, and here is what there website says about it:

WATCH D.O.G.S.^® (Dads Of Great Students) is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our nation’s schools.

So Friday afternoon I got to hang out with Reia, read in her class, participate in some class activities, play on the playground with all the kiddos, walk around and make sure all the doors were locked, and generally just help out some teachers. It was really cool just seeing school through Reia’s eyes and being in her environment. I highly recommend it for anyone who is a “Dad”.

Today is my beautiful brides birthday….It’s a beautiful day for sure! Robin and I are so different, it’s crazy. Robin LOVES birthdays and holidays. I on the other hand could really take them or leave them. This year I was hoping to have been in the new house or at least closing on her big day, but that did not work out. So, she is settling for a free day out w/o the kids enjoying a manicure and pedicure.

Robin’s in Hell…Reia is in Heaven!

I could not resist that title.

While I was at church this morning, Robin had a very interesting trip to Target that she called “Hell”. You can read all about it here.

The Reia part…in Heaven. Well, it’s kinda Hell for daddy, but get this. Reia my 5 and 1/2 year old is on a date! Yes, a date with Parker, her friend from school. Parker and Reia are bowling together! Can you believe that? Me standing at the door cleaning my shotgun when Parker arrives really does not have the same effect since he is 5 and not 16….

Fortunately (praise God) it is not really a date…but Reia is all excited to be going bowling with Parker and his family this afternoon! I am sure they will have a blast.

I am so not ready for what the future has in store!

First Day of Kindergarten
