LifeChurch.tv and Second Life…

Team Digerati has been working on some really cool stuff that I look forward to sharing with you all. The first big project “shipped” today that I thought you might enjoy looking at.

Check out the official announcement at the Swerve blog to learn all about it….

SXSW Sunday Highlights

Sunday was a very interesting day at South by Southwest. By interesting I really mean not that great. I am not sure what it is, but the last time I was here I just thought it was a lot better…. However, on the bright side, today the best session was a technical session called AJAX or Flash. One of the projects on my to-do list is re-building our LifeChurch.tv Internet Campus. For this project we went through a very in depth look at both technologies and landed on a direction. (I look forward to sharing more with you about this at a later time!)

Other sessions attended: Designing for Convergent Devices, Keynote- Phil Torrone & Limor Fried, Independent User Creation.

On another note I forgot to mention that I took Bobby to my favorite BBQ place in Texas… Rudy’s BBQ. That was a remarkable experience.

SXSW Saturday Highlights

Saturday at SXSW was a good, not really a great day. The big highlight was Kathy Sierra. Kathy has a wonderful blog called Creating Passionate Users. If you are not reading it, then subscribe here today. Her big thought, is… WTF?. For those of you who are not familiar with WTF?, it stand for What the F. WTF? is the feeling that users have when they interact with your software. Maybe your website, maybe software, maybe your piece of technology. Hey, maybe WTF? at your church. Anyway, it’s all about knowing when your users don’t understand something and helping them through it. Simplify and interact with people like they are human…. good stuff, and really a great reminder.

Other sessions attended: TV:The Next Generation, Ghost in the Machine: Spirituality Online.

Interesting note. When did downtown Austin (i.e. 6th street area) become so New York? There are pizza vendors everywhere…. When did that happen?

SXSW- Austin style

Tomorrow morning Bobby and I are jumping on a plane heading back to the glorious state of Texas, Austin style. We will be attending the South by Southwest conference. This will be my third time to SXSW, and I am a huge fan… Freaks, geeks, and geniuses. Not sure where Bobby and I fit, but I am sure it will be fun. A few of the speakers this year are Kathy Sierra from Creating Passionate Users, Phil Torrone of MAKE Magazine, and Dan Rather.

If you want to connect during the conference shoot me an email-> terry.storch (at) gmail (dot) com.
