I just enjoy them (birthdays and holidays) for what they are and what they have represented to me in the past -present- and future....a day or days that I am especially grateful for those people around me to share all of my memories with. </p> <p>If Terry tries to do those things that make me feel loved and special, and I try to do the same for him, I don't see that as taking sides, but meeting another's needs and not seeking to gratify only our own. Why is it when you have one person who gets emotionally scarred when you miss a special day versus somebody who doesn't care at all (me), you have to side with the person who gets emotionally scarred. Two types of people: people who have stake their entire life's worth on the special days and people who don't. I totally forgot about Father's Day (I just remembered it) but I wasn't upset that my son didn't do anything special. Every single day, I am proud to be a father and every precious moment I get to spend with him is a celebration. I noticed about something you said.
