Morning Drive with the Girls.
Most mornings I have the privilege to take Reese (3) and Reia (almost 6) to school. It really is such a blast just to hear them talk and learn what is going on in there little heads. This morning was awesome…here is a small part of our dialogue.
“Daddy, do you have your iPod?” -Reese
“You bet, what do you want to listen to?” -Me
“Hummmm, I wanna listen to Rock n Roll!” -Reese
“Daddy, what Reese is talking about is the….It’s been a long time since I’ve Rock n Rolled song by Led Zeppelin.” -Reia
“Oh yea, that is a great song.” -Me
“You bet it is. Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock and roll band of all times.” -Reia
I have the greatest girls is the world, wow, such a blessing! It is never to early to expose kiddos to true music greatness.

Hey Terry Storch…love the post about the girls. How cute are they? The four of us need to all get together again real soon and have dinner or something!

that’s great man… thinking back to my childhood, that conversation would have NEVER happened in the car with my parents. no, in fact, we would have been too busy talking about whether or not “christian rock” was of god or the devil.
thank god times have changed…

Just so we all know, the girls also really enjoy Christmas music in the middle of the summer and a little Rascal Flatts on occasion thanks to their mother. They do need to be well rounded and all.
But yes, Led Zepplin is greatness.

your girls have good taste in music. im impressed that you got a couple of Zepplin fans in your family. when i take my kids to school they want to listen to Radio Disney and Hannah Montana. I need to whip my kids into shape and make them Zep fans. any tips?

I have the honor of taking Terry’s 6-year old Reia to Kindergarten with my daughter Devyn on a rotating basis. It is quite interesting to hear the things that cross the minds of 6-year old girls. And boy do I have some dirt on Terry thanks to Reia. Here’s one for you.
Now that it’s cooling off in Okla., we can roll the windows down and enjoy the fresh air on the way across town. The girls love to hold their hands out the window and listen to radio Disney louder than usual. I think this is an especially fun event for Reia because her “daddy only rolls their windows down when he toots”.
Sorry, Terry. I couldn’t resist.

Awesome. You’ve clearly raised these girls well.
Little kids are a whole heck of a lot smarter and perceptive than we adults ever give them credit for. My daughters (4 and 2) remind me of this on a daily basis.

My boys are 10 and 4 and need some positive influences in their life. Will your girls be dating anytime soon?

Sweet - my daughters are 7 and 9, and we go through the same ritual on an almost daily basis. Their favorite request lately is for “Rock Lobster” and “Istanbul (not Constantinople).” Maybe it’s time to graduate to Zeppelin??
