hey terry,

i had an idea for youversion mobile. But I was in one of our small groups the other day, and was using a mobile web app to look up verses… then I thought… there must be a faster way to look up verses, like really fast!!

so the idea was for a SMS based verse lookup tool. Now obviously, you couldn’t do entire chapters, you’d have to limit the amount of text messages… but I think it’d be a great tool, to be able to text I.E.:

“John 3:16″ to a youversion verse lookup tool number,

and then instantly, you get a text message containing the verse!!

I’ve been waiting for this since the launch of YouVersion. I do a lot of work on my PDA/Phone and couldn’t use Youversion with PocketIE at all. Just took a look at the interface and it looks pretty clean and easy to use. Only change I’d probably suggest would be letting us choose the translation on the front page when we do the search instead of dropping us into the default. Other than that minor item, I think this may get some use in the future.

I’m liking it. The future is for sure mobile, but mobile platforms will always be getting better as well.
