beta round II
This weekend we ran the Internet Campus Beta for the second weekend. I wrote about last weekend here.
Let me jump back for a minute and talk about last weekend. For most of you who know me, I am a very positive person, always seeing the good in things and am always a glass is half full type….Now, a lot of the time that is a good attribute…but many times it is not! So, let me go on the record and say I am sorry for flat out lying to you all. Last weekend I said:
“Sunday went outstanding! The beta proved to be exactly what we were looking for….great feedback from and amazing staff and even better volunteers!”
That statement is only HALF true. Yes, the feedback was great, the team was really good and the volunteers were great. But for me to open that statement with Sunday went outstanding is a bold face lie. Looking back I now can say it sucked. I was very disappointed where we ended up…most of my disappointment was more about my expectations than anything else. I personally expected the application to much further along, and much more stable than it was.
So why do I tell you all of this? First, I have to personally get much better at balancing my “positivity”, and being much more openly objective! Secondly, I wanted to give a HUGE thumbs up to the team to digging in and coming through in a big way. I know the team as a whole was disappointed in last weekends results and everyone brought their A game all week to delivered in a great way. Don’t get me wrong, we still have a lot to do, and the punch list is just about as long today, as it was last weekend….but at least it is a different punch list. This weekend the teams expectations were met, my expectations were met and we are right on track for our launch.
See, now you know why there is a “beta” tag on TerryStorch.com. Wow, I personally have a lot of “code” that still needs to be written and debugged. Thanks for dealing with me in my current state…

Thanks Anne, Jeff and Chris! The open book and transparent thing is NOT natural at all….
Anthony, yes, we are a few weeks out from launching a totally new Internet Campus that is being built in house.
