vintage jesus

Robin and I are going through Mark Driscoll’s Vintage Jesus 12 week series right now. Wow, it is really good. We just finished the 2nd installment and are really enjoying it. [podcast link]

Robin and I have never really been that good at studying the Bible together or anything like that. We have tried many times, but for some reason it just has not worked out very well. So a magical plan came together. Jesus + Video Podcasts + AppleTV + HDTV = husband and wife studying God’s word together. See guys, as the Hus-”band” or leader you just have to get creative. It took me 9 years to figure this out, therefore, I am sharing so it does not have to take you that long!

Anyway, I am excited about this journey through Vintage Jesus, but more excited about really diving into God’s word more with Robin. So there ya go, if you were looking for a good way to “sell” your wife on a new TV and AppleTV you got it. God can even use the wrong motivation for His glory! :)

    Apple TV–$299

New Hang on the Wall kind of TV on which to watch the Apple TV –more than $299, but the bracket thing was free.=)

Spending time in God’s Word with your gorgeous spouse–Priceless

(And no, I never get tired of those commercials!)

My name is Robert Davis and I too have trouble leading my wife and family spiritually (and everyone said Hi Robert!). In our almost 20 years of marriage we have done one study from front to back. Terry and Robin thanks for be diligent, courageous, and authentic!

I have to echo Robert. My wife and I have been married for almost 4 years and now that I think of it…we have never completed any study together. I hate that!!! But what I love is your (Terry and Robin) creativity…it inspires me to lead…this now give me an amazing excuse to get AppleTV!

Oh man I’ve been a huge fan of Mark Driscoll for a couple of years now, awesome stuff to dig into. I’ve always just listened via audio, and the one time I was able to visit Mars Hill, he of course was taking the once every century night off. He’s so challenging, relevant, deep. His series on 1 Corinthians inspired me to pray and work towards planting a church in Uptown Charlotte. Now the AppleTV and HDTV do not need to be fanagled past my wife, she’d be all for that, it’s the checkbook that would have to be wined and dined…
