Worship

I found this on YouVersion today. We launched version .01 of the Dashboard, and it lets you see the most recent contributions to YouVersion as well as some other stuff I will blog about later.
Anyway…I thought the video was great. Very convicting for me since I have a very hard time turning the critique mode off! Actually if I was really honest with you, I would tell you I do not currently have the ability to “ever” turn the critique switch off.

Thank you Terry. I needed this. It is hard to turn the critique mode off.

Terry,
Love this video we’ve used in a service on worship before. It’s actually from Floodgate Productions, not sure if you can buy it directly from them, we got from Sermon Spice here, it’s called the The Gift of Worship

I know I shouldn’t allow it to happen but I always find myself being guilty of what you spoke of. The music helps put me in the right frame of mind to really worship. Stephen Cole always has a way to get me there

Totally with you on many levels, Terry. That video was moving and convicting, and I needed it. Perhaps you guys should play it one weekend just before each worship set?
Critique mode is something I suffer from as well, particularly in worship and at the 8:30 service on Sundays. I shoot the broadcast sermon at 10, so I’m always pre-designing my shots during worship at the service I “attend”, noting cool moments of lighting and other impact, which gets in the way of plugging into God the way I should.
Ironically, once I’m behind the camera an hour and a half later, I’m often moved by the presence in a way that distracts me from my work, which is probably God’s way of frogging my arm over it all.

Hey Terry,
We have met before but it has been a while. Just thought I would stop by and say thanks for all you do. I started my own blog the other day (20somethingpastor.com) largely because or your book, The Blogging Church. That, on top of all you are doing for LifeChurch.tv and the “Kingdom” through your work.
I enjoy reading your blog and will see you at the December Event!

Terry,
Thanks for the video, very convicting and uplifting at the same time. I enjoy your blog, and what you do for lifechurch.tv. Being a full time technology person, I have to say I use you to set a standard for my own work. Thanks again.

I know its hard sometimes - but no matter what we feel like or what we are going thru - lets grow up and worship Him. He is worthy.
Its all for Him.

Terry, How do you delete content that you put onto youversion? I accidentally linked to the wrong verse

Terry - that was a great video…sometimes we just need a little reminder about what it is really about. It is so easy to critique like you were saying especially if you have been in “church” for a long time. It is refreshing to think that it is all about HIM and we can bring it all to HIM. Thanks…
