Early this morning Adobe dropped the bomb that we all have been waiting for.
Headline: HDTV Quality Web Video Reaches the Masses With Industry Standard Video Codec in Flash Player
There are a ton of technical details that could be listed here…but I will spare you. If you want the hard core details, visit one of the lead developers blog here.
For me, here is what I am fired up about:
* Amazing video quality that runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux
* Radically improved audio quality
* Standard H.264 support and integration
* Optimized for dual-core processors
* Harware scaling, improves Full Screen option and CPU load
A very large project that will kick off in a few months just radically improved because of this release! Better late than never, right?
terry…know much about google’s office program (star or something) that’s available for free…opens word docs, etc.
gotta love google…
woohoo!
Coolness.. Do you have any plans for implementing it in LightCastMedia? The quality of h.264 is simply outstanding. I can’t wait to see what happens.
Michael…Star Office? Star office is a Sun Micro product, and works very well. Looks like Google has added it as a add in to there Google Pack…good stuff.
WhooHoo for sure…
Peter…you bet. The Team is already working on it. We have anticipated this for a while, so the backend was already being “prepped” for the conversion.
ho ho ho! Santa likes your blog a lot! Keep up the great work
