Send Flickr Pictures to Twitter
Two of my favorite tools are Flickr and Twitter. For me, Flickr hands down is the best online photo management site, and Twitter is just amazing! But the fact that I can now use them together…that makes them both even better!
TwitterGram, a tool brought to you by the amazing Dave Winer, allows me to send pictures to Flickr from my Blackberry Curve, and those pictures and messages automatically route to Twitter. I personally added the Special Tag feature with TwitterGram. I have my TwitterGram set up with “Twitter” tag. So, when I tag a picture with Twitter it sends that photo to Twitter. Here is how I use TwitterGram.
- Take picture with my Blackberry
- Add “Twitter” post in the Subject line of email.
- End the subject with “tag: twitter”
- Email picture to Flickr (how to set this up)
- Thats it…in about 5-7 min the Tweet will end up on Twitter and looks something like this.
TwitterGram is a great tool, but who knows how long it will be a service. On the site, Dave tells us it is an experimental service. It may be taken down at any time, without notice.
Enjoy!

Very cool! Makes me miss my blackberry… I was semi-forced to switch to a iPod touch and a cheapo samsung flip phone.
Cool tutorial though!
Does it work for an iPhone too?

Aaron, I can understand missing the Crackberry! Would it work on the iPhone…You bet. All you need is the ability to email a picture to Flickr with a subject line.

I tried this but it does not seem to be working. I must have missed something.

TwitterGram is great. I just saw that Dave is working on an updated, new TwitterGram. http://www.scripting.com/stories/2008/05/08/comingSoooooon.html
Have you used/seen Twitpic? http://twitpic.com/

Shane, yes…I am looking forward to it for sure.
I like Twitpic, but my problem is I do not want my images in multiple locations. I wanted to keep Flickr as my online picture solution.

Cool. I shall try it out. Thanks.

Whoa. Cool. But, i def agree with the “multiple locations” issue.
On a side note, working on an entry on yammer… and saw your comment about how it’s being used @ lctv…
how’s it holding up?

Terry – thanks so much for this tip! I’ve not really used Flickr but have needed a simple way to share BlackBerry pics on Twitter.

i love to Twitter my day to day activities to my friends and followers. Twitter is much better than blogging because it is direct to the point and does not require you to type so many unnecessary words.

Beautiful article, I must read this really slow. People should never forget the importance of a healthy life. And from time to time a diet cannot do such harm, just try it.
