SXSW – The Science of Designing Interactions Tidbits

SXSW – The Science of Designing Interactions -Andreas Weigend, People & Data – Ming Yeow Ng, Discoverio

I really needed more Starbucks before this session. These guys are rock solid, and sharp…but I am really struggeling to translate and comprehend this morning. So, here are my few tidbits.

Be bold: Create, experiment, and Measure.
Focus on Metris for users! Stop thiking old school page views, session, etc!
Discovery is the new cocaine. (that is a great line)… we need to help users discover, and to be discovered.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
