web2.0 bible
The project that I have talked about in the past [link]has been announced.
Allow me to introduce you to:

YouVersion is a free online Bible that allows users to associate video, audio, images, text, tags, and links to other websites with any verse or series of verses in the Bible. Each piece of contributed content can be labeled as public or private, so the application can be used both as a personal study tool and a public expression of user-generated commentary. In addition to contributing content, Scripture can be organized by assigning user-defined “tags” to any verse of the Bible.
Check out Bobby’s full post about YouVersion @ Swerve.
The team (and I) surly could use your prayers! Would love to hear your thoughts….

This looks incredible!! I love how you guys are always thinking ahead of the game and developing resources that will benefit the Kingdom in the future, not just today. I’ll send a few prayers up for you!

Terry this is awesome. I was just thinking yesterday that we need Web2.0 bible sites out there.
The feature that I was thinking about yesterday is that we need feeds of Bible reading plans. But, I really like the features you mention. This will be incredible.
Thanks for pushing forward on this!

Thanks Michael….we really could use the prayers.
Bill, you are so right. We plan on having some awesome ways to use RSS to get different reading plans, ways to connect with others reading plans, and some really useful tools that will bring so much exposure to Biblical relevancy. Fun stuff!

Terry - would this be something that has small group collaboration abilities? I’m thinking of this as a tool for Bible studies, who might want to make their own notes to share with one another without digging through the master list…similar to a small group mind-mapping software. This sounds great - I can’t wait to dive in to it!

iPhone battery - potentially questionable.
Semantic, hyperlinking, interactive, conversational Bible - no questions.

Karl- good thinking. We have an entire Groups feature, with a lot of options on the map….the challenge is identifying the plan of the map and keeping the scope doable.
Thats great Cynthia! Thanks….Loved the Beth Moore idea on your blog…my wife is a Huge Fan!
Thanks Ninja…I mean Zachary.
Tanner…you bet…Your videos will be a great addition.
